Sunday
By John R. Greenwood
Sunday feelings
Can’t hang on
Minutes fly by
In rapid fire succession
If only there were
Magic words to
Slow and soften
The minutes quickly passing
Monday’s follow
A nagging reminder
That time waits for no man
Even on Sunday

Just the thought of Monday spoils a Sunday. True.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday!! There's still Time!:)
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Time does wait for no one. You have to make the most of each moment. As Sherry said, enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI relate to your poem completely...Monday always looms. Great poem!
ReplyDeleteTruth! Well let's go embrace this day.
ReplyDeleteLOL. So true.
ReplyDeleteToo true! We all feel it :)
ReplyDeleteTouche... Time passes no matter how hard we try to stop it. The Sunday dread of a week's new start can ruin the whole day.
ReplyDelete"Monday, Monday so good to me.."
ReplyDeleteMama's and the Papa's
Indeed it does not. In my young adulthood, I'd suffer such depression on Sunday evening, knowing the long week that lay ahead! Now I embrace it all!

We look forward to our weekend all during the workweek and then it passes so quickly into Blue Monday........and there is nothing we can do about it. Wonderfully penned.
ReplyDeleteFor me, everyday I'm on this earth is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI think there's is a great lesson is here and enjoying and being present since time slips by so quickly. Lovely poem
ReplyDelete<3 it.
ReplyDeleteGood read, good write ... but I wish it were not so for you. About Sundays I mean. I relish a good old lazy Sunday. Haven't had one in a month as June is Opera month but next Sunday, it will be lazy and here's hoping that yours is too.
ReplyDeleteYou captured it well. :)
ReplyDeleteI work retail part-time; I understand the dread, but for me, I dread the weekend! Friday to Sunday are usually my worst, busiest days.
ReplyDeleteI have a Monday poem too, if you'd like to check it out: http://beespoetry.wordpress.com/2011/06/20/mondays-child/
