Couples
By John R. Greenwood
contentment glows in dog years
cold noses rubbing in the warm night
tail waggin’ silliness
romped happily in the side-yard
when the kids were still pups
peeing on the carpet
terrorizing the purr
out of Fluffy
pretending to nip
a skittish mailman
with quick skinny legs
George and Gracie
boundtogether
still in love
forever
The names of the dogs above have been changed to protect their privacy. They are farm dog friends and I look forward to visiting them whenever I am on the road.
OOOH, they're so sweet ... I love your pseudonyms for them .. ;)
ReplyDelete"the names have been changed" ha ha. I have raised many a puppy and each one I thought I would pull my hair out with there "naughtiness"… and then, when they are old and dying… I just wish for it all back again. This is a sweet poem - (our dog nipped at the pizza boys pant legs a number of times :P)
ReplyDeleteI love this, John!
ReplyDeleteSuch an unlikely couple. Beautiful capture.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute guys - you have lovely friends!
