Choices

Choices
Photo prompt from Poets United

Choices
By John R. Greenwood
In the battle of apple versus potato (chip)
I place my bet
The potato (chip) is the choice of hand
Men of clear head know
An apple a day
Choices
The hand like a child of two
Hears but can not listen
Potato (chip) whispers
As light as Lay’s Lightly Salted
Pick me

Choices
A daily (in) balance
What will we face upon our table today?
Pounds in the mind
Melt
One step upon the digital
One look in the full length
Truth be told
Choice
Is a battle
We all must stomach
Health and happiness
Words by choice (only)

  1. I liked the word play.
Sounds like my own brain of indecision.

  2. I did enjoy the wordplay too. I'll take an apple before a potato, and I still quote the 'apple a day' quote to my grandchildren! Yes, as your last verse says...choice is a battle indeed sometimes.

  3. Count me among those who really enjoyed the wordplay in this poem. I love the line about "potato (chip) whispers," heard quite a few of those over time. Very nicely done!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! It's been quite some time since I read my "Welcome" statement, rereading it today served as quite a nice reminder of what I've been through and where I'm going :)

Oh, my, did this ever hit home and yet, I choose, the potato (chip). Fun poem to read about the reality of choices!
